A God of Sympathy

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are -- yet was without sin.  Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.  Hebrews 4:15,16 NIV

Are you ever hesitant to ask God to supply your needs?  The author of Hebrews makes it clear that Jesus is sympathetic.  He understands our faults and our weaknesses.  He knows how many of our problems we bring on ourselves and we can still approach God's throne with confidence.  Jesus died for us.  God is not going to be hard nosed when we bring our worries to him. He loves us and wants us to ask so that he can give to us freely.
